Cottage Cheese and Dill Bread
- 3/4 c. water
- 3/4 c. cottage cheese
- 2 Tbl. shortening
- 2 Tbl. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 2/3 c. white flour
- 2 Tbl. chopped onion
- 1 Tbl. dill weed
- 1 1/4 tsp. yeast
I use a Breadmaker to start this. I measure the ingredients into the pan in the order listed. I select the dough/pasta setting and let the Breadmaker do its thing for 2 hours.
But instead of baking the dough in the Breadmaker I think you get a superior flavour by taking it out of the Breadmaker, forming a loaf, putting it in a loaf pan, letting it rise a second time for 1 hour, and then baking in the oven for 40 min. at 350.
