- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk (scalded to 125 degrees or directions on yeast pkg)
- 1 pkg Instant yeast
- 1 egg slightly beaten
- 4 cups flour (or 3 1/2 @ high altitude) (fork the container of flour before measuring)
- more softened butter
- 3/4 cups brown sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- raisins
- optional nuts, other dried fruits
Take 3 cups flour (or 2 1/2 cups @ high altitude. Put in yeast, sugar, salt.
Heat butter and milk in saucepan
Add to dry mix
Add egg
Add last cup flour
Knead
Brush dough and inside of bowl with butter. Cover, let rise until double in bulk (about 1/2 hour)
Turn out onto board (approx 10 X 24)
Knead - adding flour as needed
Roll out to rectangle (10 x 24)
Spread 3 tbsp softened butter
Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins, nuts, etc
Sprinkle on dough
Roll it up long ways.
Slice it - about 1" thick
Pinch and seal with lZ2Sku <a little water
Let it rise until doubled in size
