Spaghetti and Meat Sauce
- 1 pound hamburger meat
-
- 1 25 ounce can of whole tomatoes
-
- Medium sized white onion
-
- 1 peeled carrot
-
- ½ of a one celery stick
- 1 tbsp. dried basil or oregano (or both!)
-
!)
Add olive oil to frying pan and fry meat until no longer pink. Having some crispy bits is good. Put tomatoes (along with the sauce they come in) in Cuisinart or mixer. Add onion, carrot, celery and mix. Pour vegetable mixture onto browned meat. Add basil or oregano. Bring to boil, then simmer for at least 15 mins. Serves 4 ppl. Pour meat sauce over spaghetti (see “noodles and pasta” for how to make spaghetti). Serve with parmesan. Note: this recipe makes enough sauce for 4 people, so you can make it and then save the rest, or halve all the amounts in the recipe to make less. Extra meat sauce is always useful though. You can have it for lunch and things. You can also buy tomato sauce at the store; use that sauce instead of the tomatoes, onions, carrots, celery and basil in this recipe.
