Mom’s Bread-L
- 6 c warm water
- 1/3 c sugar or honey
- 2 tbsp yeast
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 2 c wh wh flour
- 1/2 c oil
- 2 c warm milk or 3/4 c pdr milk+2 c warm water
- 5 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ginger

- 1/3 c sugar or honey

- 1 c each wheat germ, ground flax,

oats, sunflower seeds etc.
- 4 c wh wh flour
- 6 c unbleached flour, plus more
Heat house. Mix water through wh wh flour. Let sit 20-30 minutes. Add oil through sunflower seeds. Mix then add 4 cups whole wheat flour. Knead in 6 cups unbleached flour. Keep adding flour until it feels sticky but not too sticky – about three more cups.
Let rise in a warm place for 1.5 hours. Punch down, cut into 4 or 5 lumps, shape into loaves and place in greased bread pans. Cover let rise 2 tbsp yeast, oats, sunflower seeds etc.
Heat house. Mix water through yeast. Let sit 20-30 minutes. Add oil through sunflower seeds. Mix then add 4 cups whole wheat flour. Knead in 6 cups white flour. Keep adding flour until it feels sticky but not too sticky – about three more cups.
Let rise in a warm place for 1.5 hours. Punch down, cut into 4 or 5 lumps, shape into loaves and place in greased bread pans. Cover let rise 2.5 hours. Pre-heat oven to 400. Reduce heat to 325. Bake for fourtyforty minutes. Take out of pans and place on racks so bottoms don’t get soggy.
